Thousands of Kashmiris—ranging from political leaders and civil society activists to journalists, lawyers, and young students—remain imprisoned in jails far from their homes. Many are held under arbitrary detention without formal charges or trial.
This systematic policy of incarceration is designed to create a leadership vacuum and enforce collective silence. Prisoners face harsh conditions, inadequate medical care, and severe restrictions on family visits, violating international human rights conventions.
Our Stand on Justice
We advocate unconditionally for the rights of political prisoners. Locking up peaceful voices, journalists, and human rights defenders does not eliminate dissent; it merely buries it beneath the surface where it inevitably metastasizes into deeper anger.
We call for an independent international commission to inspect detention facilities, guarantee fair trial standards, and release all non-violent political detainees immediately.
